Extended Agreement for Universal Protocol for Accommodations in Reading (uPAR) and Read Write for Google

We are excited to inform you that the agreement between the Iowa Department of Education and Iowa’s AEA to provide the Universal Protocol for Accommodations in Reading (uPAR) free of charge to all Iowa schools has been extended through the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.  In addition, Read&Write for Google is also available for free to any school district that is using the uPAR with students.  This means that if the uPAR has been given to ANY student in the district, the district can obtain a free license to use Read&Write with all students in the district.  What a great opportunity to try it out with kids!!

This extended agreement is a great opportunity for our Central Rivers’ schools to provide their students with access to these high-quality resources at no cost. We encourage you to share this information with your school districts and encourage them to take advantage of this offer if they haven’t already.  We would also be happy to work with them, if they need a refresher or further support in using it again.

Here is a flier that can be shared with the schools with a link to request the uPAR.  Once the schools have used the uPAR, they will be able to request Read&Write.  At this time you can request it through contacting Jennifer Cline or Abbi Martin.  Our AT team would be happy to provide the support needed to implement the use of uPAR or Read&Write.

Thank you for helping to spread the word of this great opportunity.
